(More customer reviews)I got one for my birthday from my wife. This was my first RC airplane.I like to think I know a lot about planes and flying in general.. and I wanted to expand my passion with flying one of these..Well.. I find this one very difficult to fly..The plane is described as "Super stable for beginner Slow Speed Flying Capable, Good for Beginner Suitable for both beginners and experienced pilots "..
well I find that..not true.. except for the last part.Same company makes a Cessna 172 and I saw it flying..and that's a trainer..this is not.
I just came back from a "flight" and a bunch of advanced rc pilots warned me..that that's a tough plane to fly..because of the mid-wing.
It's way too fast, low altitude doesn't give you too much time to recover..banking is super fast..even if you gently touch the controls. This plane is unforgivable: one small mistake: boom!
The airframe is great and indeed is crash resistant. Expect to break a lot of propellers if you are a beginner like me.
Thrust is generated by a 7,5V 370 motor geared (for 9X3 propellers and 8X4) but the gear is made out of cheap plastic...one crash and you can say goodbye to the gear.. I've spent more time fixing it than flying. My suggestion is: if you are a beginner..look for something else.
Other thoughts: 27 Mhz system can have a lot if interference.Cheap electronics but a 20 Amp ESC.You will probably have some tough time mounting the landing gear. I couldn't take off from the ground..the wheels get stuck and the plane takes a nose down attitude and if you are not fast enough to kill the throttle..there goes another propeller.By the way..some trainers (as I later found out) have the propeller in the back..for the same reason...anyway I did manage to hand launch..but I bet your first launch is going to be a stall/crash..you have to really throw this thing in the air..do some research before your first flight.
It looks cool though..I'm putting it away for now and I will try a slower one like Cessna 172.
Ciao.
